Day 2 - Spending too much time in the car

Day 2
We started of this morning in Illinois at Kickapoo State park. Up bright and early, we had a cold breakfast and were on our way.  The park was beautiful and I wish we could have had more time to spend there. We stopped once for gas and then didn't make a stop again until a cabellas in West Virginia.
After a gorgeous and somewhat speedy drive through the mountains (I guess speed limits are more of a suggestion out here), we made it to the last stretch in Maryland. Here we ran into something we would have expected back home, a combine traffic jam.

After the delay we made it down and crossed the Potomac and into Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. We ate at a local pub and then tried to find a camping spot. It was too late to reserve a camping spot anywhere and we didn't want to night hike to find a spot out on the AT so we decided to stay the night in the car. Yay more car time 🙃

Not sure what we will do tomorrow since we are a day early for the train. We talked about hiking a bit but I think it is supposed to rain all day. We will let you know tomorrow!
